So, in the midst of finals week, I am going to keep is short and sweet. I also want to talk about how much I love our profession. One time per month I attend an MS support group in Shreveport, MS on the Red. Well, two weeks ago, myself and one of my classmates (who also has MS and attends the group) were asked by the group leader to talk about physical therapy and MS. It felt so great to be able to educate others that I can relate to as well as share my knowledge of PT. We talked about deficits in MS, what a PT does, how PT can help, and showed them several exercises they could implement into their daily routines. Tonight’s experience made me so excited to get out into the clinic and be able to apply my knowledge. As a student, you sometimes forget how much you know until you are given the opportunity to educate others.
